Fawn Bluff Private Lodge is seeking an experienced chef with a strong background in remote location operations, a passion for wilderness, West Coast British Columbia cuisine, and a commitment to delivering intuitive, elevated, personalized hospitality. This role requires a versatile individual with hybrid experience across both culinary and management positions (minimum 5+ years), ideally supported by relevant certifications or outdoor/wilderness skill sets.
Located on the Pacific coast of British Columbia, Fawn Bluff is a private wilderness lodge dedicated to reconnecting people with nature through sincere, regenerative hospitality. Rooted in a long-standing relationship with the Homalco First Nation (Xwemalhkwu), the lodge is committed to honouring the land, protecting the ecosystem, and supporting meaningful community initiatives. Acquired in 2023 by David and Claire Tuchbant, the lodge operates on a 340-acre property accessible by a short seaplane flight from Vancouver and accommodates up to 12 adults and four children.
As part of a two-person Co-Executive Chef team, you will share leadership of the lodge's culinary and kitchen operations. Responsibilities include all culinary execution for guests, staff, ownership, and contractors while upholding Fawn Bluff's high standards. You will oversee daily kitchen operations, ordering, stock management, costing, staff leadership, and the ongoing development of a culinary program anchored in West Coast ingredients, BC seafood, and Canadian terroir.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years in professional chef and/or culinary management roles
Strong ability to operate systems within a remote lodge ecosystem
Experience managing cooks, supply chains, ordering, and inventory
Confidence in R&D, menu development, and collaborative culinary programming
Respect for wilderness, nature, and sustainable practices
Passion for excellence and elevated guest-centered hospitality
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
Must reside on the West Coast of BC (or willingness to relocate)
21/10-days on-off rotation from April-October for 2026 season
Food safety certification; Red Seal Journeyperson certification (or equivalent
