Code Ninjas is the nation's fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our centre, kids as young as Kindergarten learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way - by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can't wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. As the owners of the center, our vision is to let the kids truly experience and learn about technologies where technologies is not just coding or computers. It is so much more than that - it is robotics, automation, voice recognition, VR, 3D printing and more.

What are we looking for?



We are looking for Code Senseis to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas centre. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? Are you passionate about technology? Do you enjoy learning new technologies and explore what possibilities could be achieved with new technology? This could be the role for you.

Responsibilities include:



Training - go through the curriculum and learn it
Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
Work with children to determine skill sets
Provide 1-1 tutoring to children to learn through curriculum
Encourage children to explore and create new things with the skills they learn through the curriculum
Provide feedback to parents after working with student who is on a tour
Follow opening/closing duties daily
Clean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
Report weekly to Centre Manager on student's progress
Report daily to Centre Manager with respect to day's activities and productivity in dojo

Qualifications:



Working history with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.) is a plus
Passionate about technology and willing to explore the world of possibilities using technology
Experience working with the general public
Experience in teaching, mentoring or child care is a plus
Works well with others; collaborates
Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
Knowledge of Scratch, JavaScript, C#, Lua, Unity is a plus
Must be fun to work with and like working in fast paced environments where requirements can change frequently

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.70-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 10 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

Richmond Hill, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:

Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:

teaching: 1 year (preferred) Tutoring: 1 year (preferred)
Work Location: In person
