Job Purpose



Reporting to the Department Supervisor, the Turret Punch Operator will be responsible for operating a CNC Turret to process sheet metal (aluminum and steel) work pieces into metal panels. This role requires previous experience in sheet metal fabrication as well as experience as a CNC operator (specifically with tool changeovers). The ideal candidate will have knowledge of optimization of large metal sheets as well as good understanding of quality control standards with metal fabrication.

Duties and Responsibilities



Operate a CNC Turret to fulfill production orders on a timely basis. Load large metal sheets into CNC in the proper orientation, run predetermined fabrication programs on machine for processing, unload, stack and label work pieces onto material handling carts. Conduct regular tooling changes (punch dies) on CNC turret according to fabrication requirements. Optimize sheet usage and die changeovers to maximize equipment uptime. Review processes and assemblies for quality and conformance and uphold established quality standards. Alter machine parameters as needed to achieve optimal results. Uphold all company safety policies and procedures. Conduct routine (operator specific) maintenance on equipment (cleaning, upholding all machine safeguarding, evaluating tool life, etc.). Report any product or process deficiencies to Department Supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications



At least 2 Years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Previous experience with aluminum or steel panel fabrication (cutting, bending, punching) required. Previous experience with panel processing equipment (Turret, Fiber Laser, Shear, Brake Press) required. Previous experience with tool (die) changeovers on CNCN equipment required. Strong understanding of geometry. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings. Ability to read manufacturing paperwork (production labels). Ability to read and utilize tape measure (specifically imperial measurement units). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods. Available to work 4pm to 1am Monday to Friday

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
