The Opportunity
As a CNC Machinist Operator in our manufacturing facility, you play a pivotal role in producing precision parts using computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Operating equipment such as lathes and milling machines, your responsibilities include setting up machines, loading materials, and ensuring efficient and accurate machining of components as per company specifications.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, including lathes and milling equipment.
• Interpret and adjust CNC programs to ensure accurate machining.
• Handle material loading and monitor the production process for optimal material utilization.
• Conduct regular inspections of machined parts to verify conformity to blueprints and quality standards.
• Perform tool changes and offsets during the machining process to maintain accuracy.
• Execute basic preventative maintenance on CNC machines for optimal functionality.
• Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions of finished parts.
• Maintain accurate records of production runs, adjustments, and encountered issues.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to address production or quality issues.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
Skills & Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficient in CNC program editing, setup, and operation.
• 1 year CNC machines set up operation in metal manufacturing.
• Intermediate precision measuring knowledge.
• Knowledge of overhead cranes would be an asset.
• Adaptable, basic math skills, analytical, with a positive team attitude.
• Demonstrated blueprint interpretation and commitment to quality processes. Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
