Job Summary:
As a CNC Setter /Operator, you will machine components for production. Successful candidates will monitor quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes and adjusting and/or reprogramming control while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Job Duties:
Produce parts using CNC Mills and Lathes that conform to engineering blueprints
Prepare CNC programs and set-up machine
Support machine setup and operation personnel
Emphasis is placed on a continuous process of improvement
Able to adjust offsets and code, if needed, to produce accurate parts
Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
Placement into Level I, Level II, or Senior will be dependent on past experience, sign off on internal training, and/or the ability to learn additional equipment in the shop
Any other duties as assigned by the Machining Supervisor or Senior Leadership team
Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
2 year degree in machining, preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience as a setter/machinist in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of G & M Codes
Must be able to work in a Team environment
Able to work in a fast-paced production environment
Experience with HAAS CNC mills is an asset
Ability to machine all types of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless and plastics)
Must be able to read precision measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, depth gages)
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
Must have good communication skills
Must have good math skills
Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Hourly Wage: $24-$32 based on experience... plus $1 shift premium
