With business booming, Prestige Homes is looking to add a CNC Programmer to their team in Sussex, NB.

Role Description

As the CNC Programmer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the CNC-operated machines that are part of the kitchen cabinet production process. This includes machine set up, program generation, program verification, and equipment maintenance. Working with others in the organization, you will become an expert on the machines and will utilize that knowledge to ensure production remains smooth and deadlines are met.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating hand tools and precision measuring devices
  • Reading and interpreting production documentation including blueprints
  • Maintaining production schedules
  • Recognizing and communicating areas to improve to the lead-hands
  • Maintaining a clean work environment
  • Reviewing design blueprints in order to create instructions for machine operators
  • Modifying previously written programs in order to achieve increased efficiencies
  • Analyzing and selecting speeds and cutting tools for programs
  • Maintaining and repairing equipment as necessary
  • Checking completed programs by running simulations
  • Complying with all safety rules and regulations
Your Qualifications

With either a post-secondary education or an equivalent amount of experience in CNC machining/programming, you have a very solid understanding of and ability to use a number of relevant CNC machines. This includes a knowledge of 3-axis router tables and programming in G and M code format. You are able to read and interpret blueprints and understand part specifications, and Mozaik software experience would be considered an asset. Additionally, you have familiarity with hand tools, measuring devices, tooling, fixtures, and tool setup procedures.

Your qualifications include:
  • Diploma or degree in CNC machining would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing industry & cabinet manufacturing would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong and accurate math skills
  • Ability to follow written instructions in English
  • Strong teamwork values and a positive attitude
