Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Detailer /CNC Programmer to join our growing team. This hybrid role combines technical CNC programming and operation with detailed millwork design and drafting. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing precise shop drawings, translating design concepts into manufacturable solutions, and creating executable CNC machining programs to ensure projects are delivered with accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
This is an on-site role and not eligible for remote work
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and interpret detailed millwork shop drawings for custom cabinetry, feature walls, paneling, reception desks, and other architectural elements.
Create executable CNC programs based on design drawings and specifications.
Collaborate with architects, designers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure constructability and seamless execution.
Maintain CNC programming databases and ensure compliance with production and quality standards.
Participate in design coordination meetings and resolve issues during fabrication and installation phases.
Support quality control by reviewing drawings, CNC programs, and finished components.
Qualifications and Skills:
3-5 years of experience in CNC programming and millwork detailing within a woodworking or architectural millwork environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; familiarity with SCM machinery, Maestro, and 3D modeling software is an asset.
Strong knowledge of millwork fabrication processes, joinery, finishes, and commercial construction standards.
Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and interior design drawings with precision.
Knowledge of building codes, accessibility, and fire-rating requirements is an asset.
Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing project demands.
Diploma/degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Education:
Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
Referenceable work experience is a priority, however, post-secondary education in Construction Management, Design or Architecture, or a related field would be beneficial.
Relevant certification in Design or Detailing would be an asset.
