Manufacturing Technician, CNC Optics (Weekend Shift)

About the Role

This position is responsible for generating and polishing optical components (precision lenses) using CNC machines with 3, 4, and 5 axes; NC; 2 axes and 2 mechanical axes equipment. Operates various precision optics CNC dual-spindle technology and axis design machines with a sound technical problem solving skills. Perform final inspection of complicated optical elements.

Primary Responsibilities

Set up CNC programs; CAN cycles with G-code understandings Generate and polish optical components Grind optical components; Precision Optics CNC Edge optical components; Precision Optics CNC Hand polish optiocal components Polish optical components; both Precision Optics CNC and Diamond Turned CNC Inspect/measure optical components to ensure conformity to specified tolerances

Education & Skills Requirements

Diploma in Photonics or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a minimum of 12 months experience in a related discipline Ability to read and interpret drawings Strong technical knowledge, capabilities Sound technical problem solving skills Ability to work well with others Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions
