Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Milling Machine Operator & Programmer with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience machining precision components on a 3-axis Haas vertical mill. The ideal candidate has experience in a custom machine-building environment and can independently program, set up, and operate CNC milling equipment to produce high-accuracy parts.

Key Responsibilities:

Program, set up, and operate a 3-axis Haas vertical milling machine. Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications. Select appropriate cutters, tooling, speeds, and feeds based on materials and tolerances. Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure dimensional and surface-finish accuracy. Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust offsets, and refine toolpaths to improve efficiency and part quality. Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Maintain accurate documentation for programs, setups, and production runs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Technical diploma in machining, manufacturing, or a related field (mandatory). 3+ years of CNC milling experience, including programming and setup on Haas machines. Proficiency with Mastercam for 3-axis milling toolpaths. Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T. Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, height gauges, calipers, indicators). Experience working in a custom machine-building environment. Working knowledge of AutoCAD for reviewing and understanding part drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
