Job Summary:
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of a CNC mill and lathe. The ideal candidate will have experience with the use of a lathe, mill, and milling machine. The CNC Machinist will also be responsible for the setup and maintenance of the tooling and fixtures used in the production department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and maintain vertical and horizontal CNC mills and lathes
Set up tooling and fixtures for machining
Set up machinery to produce parts according to schedule
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery tools as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager to support production schedule
Should be familiar with HEIDENHAIN & Siemens control
Follow all safety regulations and company policies including use of PPE when necessary to prevent hazards or exposure to materials that may be hazardous or toxic
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
Follow all quality standards for quality control purposes (internal or external)
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager to support production schedule
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Must be able to read drawings, blueprints, schematics, etc. - must be familiar with use of CNC machines. Must be able to interpret engineering drawings. Must be able to understand shop drawings when translating into machine language.
