Job Description

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Machinist Operator is responsible for the timely manufacturing of accurate parts using milling machines, lathes and part marking equipment as well as various hand tools.

Responsibilities:

Receive jobs from Manufacturing Manager according to schedule

With assistance, setup and running of Mills and Lathes to produce in spec parts

Picking and using appropriate tooling

Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines

Part measuring - micrometers, calipers, pins, other hand tools, optical comparator, CMM on occasion

Deburring parts

Use of hand tools

Getting first article approval from quality department

Picking and recording materials used for jobs and fixtures

Recording job time tracking

Recording NCRs, trouble shooting causes, and proposing process improvements

Passing finished parts off to quality for final inspection.

Documented, organize, follow procedures used by everyone

Manage day-to-day maintenance of machines

Clean machine and work area after jobs

Maintain an organized and tidy work area

Proactively contributes to and implements continuous improvement initiatives

Use safe work practices and ensure proper safety equipment is worn

Other duties as required

Education:

Skills and Qualifications:

Machine Operator: 2 year (preferred) Previous CNC machine experience an asset

Schedule:

Afternoon Shift - 10 hour shift, Monday to Thursday
