PURPOSE: The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of our CNC Machines in our Commercial Millwork manufacturing facility. The incumbent will positively affect creating quality parts and flow of work. REPORTS TO: This position reports to the Production Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Operate and maintain CNC Machines and manual saws associated with commercial woodworking. \xc2\xb7 Lay-up sheet goods, laminates when required using the Vacuum Press where necessary. Lay-up materials on bench with contact and roller prior to placing on the CNC \xc2\xb7 Choose the required materials from the warehouse and bring to the CNC for machining \xc2\xb7 Mount, align and secure tooling, attachments and work pieces on machine. \xc2\xb7 Load material on CNC \xc2\xb7 Operate CNC controls, setting offsets, final finish and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements. \xc2\xb7 Detect and adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining \xc2\xb7 Correctly establish required tooling \xc2\xb7 Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications and/or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances \xc2\xb7 Compute dimensions and tolerances \xc2\xb7 Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and following a regularly scheduled maintenance program. \xc2\xb7 Clean and maintain work area including machinery and tools to ensure a safe working environment. \xc2\xb7 Ensure shop inventory is being counted and restocked as required. \xc2\xb7 Liaise with management to review areas where costs can be reduced, and efficiencies created for certain products. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: \xc2\xb7 Ensure Storemark safety requirements are carried out at ALL times. \xc2\xb7 Improve the efficiency of production and quality of finished products \xc2\xb7 CNC machine is maintained at optimal performance to ensure quality parts are produced QUALIFICATIONS: \xc2\xb7 High School Diploma, GED or post secondary trade. \xc2\xb7 Experience with CNC machining/operating in a production environment. \xc2\xb7 Millwork experience \xc2\xb7 Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects and effectively communicate with internal customers \xc2\xb7 Strong attention to detail \xc2\xb7 Able to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal, precision drawings and written instructions \xc2\xb7 Able to perform arithmetic calculations \xc2\xb7 Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time \xc2\xb7 Strong computer skills with a desire to learn CNC machinery in wood manufacturing \xc2\xb7 Experience with CNC machinery CAM and CAD software Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour Benefits:
