We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and experience with CNC programming and operation. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work with various machining tools and equipment. The CNC Lathe Operator will be responsible for producing high-quality components while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Duties
Set up, operate, and maintain the Okuma LT50 6-axis CNC lathe
Interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints
Perform precision machining of metal components to tight tolerances
Conduct in-process inspections and make necessary adjustments
Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to ensure optimal performance
Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and SolidWorks models to understand project requirements.
Perform CNC programming and make necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and calipers for measuring and inspecting finished products.
Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members in a lean manufacturing environment to improve processes and reduce waste.
Assist in assembly tasks as needed, ensuring all components meet quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC lathes, with specific experience on Okuma LT50 or similar multi-axis machines
Strong understanding of G-code and CNC programming (OSP control experience preferred)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
Proficiency in CNC programming languages (Fanuc preferred) and operation of CNC milling machines.
Familiarity with CAD software and blueprint reading skills.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
Experience with welding is a plus but not required.
