Job Overview
Miska Trailers is seeking a reliable and experienced
CNC Laser Operator
to support our production operations. In this role, you will be responsible for operating the CNC laser cutting machine to precisely cut metal parts used in trailer manufacturing. You will ensure equipment is set up correctly, maintained, and operated safely and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities
Set up and operate a CNC laser cutting machine to produce metal parts for trailers
Select laser settings based on material type and thickness
Load cutting programs and verify machine configurations
Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings to meet design specifications
Load and unload sheet metal using a forklift or overhead crane
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment
Identify and resolve machine malfunctions quickly to minimize downtime
Inspect completed parts for quality and accuracy
Prepare raw materials and assist in organizing materials and equipment
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in accordance with Miska's safety policies
Ensure timely completion of assigned jobs and support production goals
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Production Manager
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience operating CNC laser machines, preferably in a manufacturing setting
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
Accurate use of measuring tools such as calipers, squares, and measuring tapes
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment
Basic computer literacy for program loading and machine operation
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and quality
Forklift license is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
