Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machine Technician to join our manufacturing team. The CNC Cutting Machine Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and optimizing automated cutting equipment to ensure accurate, efficient, and high-quality production. This role requires strong technical aptitude, proficiency with automated cutting software, and the ability to interpret CAD-based vector patterns for precise material cutting. The technician will collaborate closely with product development, engineering, and production teams to support consistent workflow and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities



CNC Operation & Production



Operate CNC cutting machines to process materials according to production specifications. Load, align, and secure materials on the cutting bed to ensure accurate positioning. Interpret and execute cutting files generated from CAD and vectorized patterns. Monitor cutting performance for accuracy, speed, and material efficiency. Perform test cuts and calibrations as needed to ensure optimal machine performance.

Software & File Management



Use automated cutting software to import, adjust, and optimize vectorized patterns. Apply nesting techniques to maximize material usage and minimize waste. Troubleshoot file-related issues, including scaling, alignment, and pathing errors. Communicate with design or engineering teams to correct or refine CAD patterns.

Maintenance & Quality Control



Perform routine maintenance such as blade changes, lubrication, calibration, and cleaning. Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical or software issues to minimize downtime. Conduct quality checks on cut components to ensure they meet dimensional specifications and tolerances. Maintain accurate logs of machine performance, maintenance, and production output.

Collaboration & Safety



Work closely with production leads to coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks. Follow all safety protocols related to machinery operation, material handling, and workplace procedures. Provide feedback for process improvement and help refine cutting standards and best practices.

Experience



Proven experience working in a manufacturing or factory environment with hands-on machining or fabrication tasks. Familiarity with CNC machinery and Atom cutting. Prior experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or similar design tools is advantageous. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly line operations, materials handling, tooling setup, and fabrication methods. Experience operating CNC cutting machinery in a manufacturing environment (apparel, footwear, upholstery, composites, industrial materials, etc.). Proficiency with automated cutting software and CAD-based pattern tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Optitex, Gerber, Lectra, or similar). Ability to read, interpret, and adjust vectorized patterns and technical drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of nesting, tooling adjustments, and cutting optimization techniques. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail. Familiarity with safety protocols and preventative maintenance practices.

Pay: From $17.85 per hour
