Do you possess qualities were looking for as a CMM Programmer/Technician? *This position is based out of our Michigan plant at 14898 Koehn Rd, Capac, MI 48014, United States* Where does the CMM Programmer/Technician fit in? The CMM Programmer/Technician (thats you!) ensures the proper support and implementation of QC systems with an emphasis on metrology. You will be responsible for the measurement of parts and components for first article inspection, part/component validation and PPAP submission. This position will also be responsible for the maintenance, calibration and general operation of quality lab measurement devices and check fixtures. You ensure that quality system hardware, operating systems, and applications are managed to corporate policies, procedures and best practices with a strong focus on documentation. Your responsibility is to ensure product conformance to company, customer and regulatory requirements and have the authority and responsibility to identify and prevent non-conformances from being produced and shipped to customers. What you can expect as our next CMM Programmer/Technician: Perform CMM programming, set-up, inspection and reporting in quality labsBe hands-on with the monitoring, measurement, and support of most QC systems Maintains gage qualification, calibration records & quality related documentation Create and maintain quality reports and communicate findings to appropriate personnel Investigate and suggest improvements for measurement methods Perform measurements of products and components for part validation, PPAP and first article inspection Perform calibration of all metrology equipment Ensure all lab equipment is maintained in a good working order Perform studies and collect data to determine part and process capabilities at varying stages of production Enforce and follow Axiom policies, procedures and best practices. Liaises with engineering and other production staff as required to troubleshoot, research and solve technical problemsOther duties as assigned Are you our next CMM Programmer/Technician? PRE-REQUISITES: Must have minimum 3 years working experience in quality/inspection and calibration experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings (GDNT)Ability to write CMM programs and operate CMM independentlyHands on experience using Rational DMIS & PC-DMIS software is an asset!Experience with Design software and interpreting to CMM (CAD/AutoCAD)Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments including Optical Comparator, Calipers, Micrometers, Gauge Block, Pin Gauge, CMM, FARO, )CQA or CQT certification is an asset!Must have knowledge of statistics and SPC functions and analysis of related data.Good analytical, oral and written communication skillsSelf-motivated individual with a strong attention to detailComputer literacy and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suiteExperience in the Automotive industry is an asset!
