HealthPointe is a large interdisciplinary sports medicine and pain clinic in Edmonton Alberta providing interventional pain medicine to patients.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Combined Laboratory X-Ray Technologist role is a multidisciplinary position that requires rotation in general radiography and specialized fluoroscopy. Responsible for Safely executing work which includes; Entering, reviewing, reporting, and distributing patients' exams in an accurate, complete, and timely manner. Appropriately positioning patients and equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for review. Verify patient information by interviewing patients and confirming the purpose of the visit and ensuring all X-Ray Technologist activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner.

YOU WILL:



Ensure timely reporting and analysis of incidents, near misses, and hazards. Enter, review, report, and distribute patients' exams in an accurate, complete, and timely manner. Complete general radiography and specialized fluoroscopy procedures. Appropriately positioning patients and equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for review. Review images and ensure images are promptly sent to PACS to be reviewed by the radiologist. Provide patients, public, and staff radiation protection and follow the principles of As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) Verify patient information by interviewing the patient and confirming the purpose of the visit. Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs Ensure the required levels of competencies are achieved by completing all required training and maintaining records. Communicate relevant support, concerns, and information with, patients, teammates, surgeons, and supervisors using the appropriate methods. Share lessons learned, best practices, and cost-saving initiatives to enable continuous improvement.

YOU HAVE:



Completion of an accredited Canadian MRT or CXLT Program Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) Active registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray technologist (ACCLXT) CPR WHMIS 1 Year of experience as an X-Ray Technologist Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Previous experience in Fluoroscopy (an asset)
