Business group: Cloud Engineering - Team is undertaking a critical modernization initiative to build an enterprise-wide cloud platform on Google Cloud. Our team has embarked on the journey to modernize both development practices and tools. One of the main areas of transformation is the public cloud and the various platform technologies that support both development and operations on the cloud. The aim is to provide a streamlined process and framework which will allow the development teams to focus on building business logic.
Project: To ensure continuity and modernize our infrastructure management, we will launch an initiative to migrate all Google Cloud resources currently managed by a legacy pipeline to Terraform. This migration will standardize our Infrastructure-as-Code approach, improve automation, and enhance scalability while reducing dependency on deprecated tools. The project will include inventorying existing deployments, converting or rebuilding configurations using Terraform best practices.
Candidate Value Proposition:
As part of this initiative, you'll lead a high-impact transformation that modernizes our cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Google Cloud's advanced ecosystem, including GKE (Kubernetes), Policy Controller and Config Connector.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of enterprise-scale cloud engineering while elevating your technical profile.
You'll design and deliver production-grade Terraform modules following best practices, enabling the opportunity to dive deeply into Terraform
Typical Day in Role:
Technical ownership/leadership of enterprise cloud product(s) or a complex part of a larger product including the design, software, and processes necessary for ongoing operations.
Designing, implementing, and refactoring code.
Participating in design discussions focused on scalability, design, and implementation best practices.
Ensuring software, programs, and applications are developed and/or configured to meet high availability, integrity, and reliability requirements.
Working with other lead engineers and architects on designing solutions and breaking-down, scoping, and estimating tasks.
Design strategies and tools to deploy, monitor, and administer Cloud applications and the underlying services for Cloud.
Participate in planning and retrospective sessions, attending stand-ups, etc.
Our teams are flexible and fast, requiring daily peer review and quality control.
