We are looking for a Cloud Engineer, to join the Rogers Network Cloud Engineering team.

As a team member, the individual will work on Network Cloud related deliverables, including Cloud based solutions,

security, performance, devops and design. In this role you will get to work on some of the world\'s most demanding cloud computing applications across multiple service domains including: Wireless Cell Phone services, internet access and Video delivery. This is an exciting time to be joining Rogers as we continue our journey to transform to a cloud first telecommunications service provider.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering, this individual will be primarily responsible for delivering Engineering initiatives within the Cloud team.

What you will do:

Work on complex and challenging initiatives related to delivering Cloud solutions for Rogers Network.

Participate in Cloud related initiatives end to end, covering design and implementation to day 2 operations.

Work with Management, Security teams and other stakeholders to provide a robust Cloud security posture.

Build and deploy Cloud infrastructure, virtual machines and containers.

Build and enhance DevOps functionality within the team.

Participate in Cloud strategy for infrastructure, virtualization and application layers.

Develop and maintain all documentation requirements.

Participate in RFPs/RFQs and POC testing.

Maintain and refine Cloud SLAs and KPIs.

Work with 3rd party partners on specific initiatives.

Participate in escalation support as/when needed.

Provide assistance to application teams as/when needed.

Participate in life cycle management, including decommissioning.

Participate in LAB infrastructure deployments, maintenance and support.

Assist management in non-technical initiatives as needed.

What you have:

Computer Science / IT/ Engineering Degree education required.

Certification on Cloud infrastructure nice to have.

Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.

Possess superior time management and multi-tasking skills.

Significant experience with server infrastructure, virtualization and application layers is required.

5+ years direct experience in a Cloud Operations or Support role, demonstrating ability to handle high

pressure situations is nice to have.

• 2+ years experience with Rogers product lines, in particular Rogers Wireless would be nice to have.

2+ years experience with Cloud networking.

Hands on experience with VMWare product lines, specifically Telco Cloud and Datacenter.

Hands on experience working with server infrastructure.

Hands on experience with SDNs, and networks in general.

Knowledge of containers, microservices patterns and API`s.

Knowledge of Security concepts.

Hands on experience with any Linux flavour required. Windows nice to have.

Experience with the preparation of technical design, implementation, system administration and operational documentation.

Experience in designing, deploying, and supporting high availability (multi-zone and multi-region architectures).

Experience designing and building public cloud infrastructure nice to have.

Familiarity with continuous deployment methodology and common DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, terraform and configuration tools such as Chef, Puppet and Ansible.
