Cloud Admin/analyst (azure Preferred)

Job Description


On behalf of our client in Ontario, Ignite Technical Resources is seeking a Cloud Admin/Analyst to join our client\'s team on a permanent full-time basis.

The successful candidate will become part of the infrastructure operations team, which runs the operational services that align to the cloud and VMware technology supporting the overall enterprise infrastructure program. You will participate in the operations, security, and investigations teams to ensure that the operations of the infrastructure portfolio are running smoothly and in an optimized manner in the production environment. This will be in the form of ticket and problem management, tool management, project contribution and acceptance of new technology into production while running the service effectively.
Responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining a cost-efficient, scalable Azure and AWS cloud and on-prem infrastructure;
  • Ensuring high security, scalability and availability of cloud and on-prem infrastructure;
  • Actively identifying opportunities to enhance, optimize and modernize our infrastructure to maximize efficiency, and a positive user experience, at an optimal operating cost;
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting systems and ensuring incident recurrence is prevented;
  • Developing and maintaining a monitoring and alerting stack;
  • Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines;
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to enhance and improve infrastructure/features;
  • Providing technical support to team members;
  • Developing and/or maintaining operational documentation;
  • Staying updated with emerging technologies and trends; and
  • Ensuring all activities follow applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Computer science, software engineering or science degree
  • 4+ years software development experience with at least some cloud administration experience
  • Some experience with DevOps and CI/CD
  • Some experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience in serverless and microservice systems
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
  • Experience with networking and security principles
  • Experience with Windows and Linux servers
  • Experience in all software development life cycles is preferred: architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance
  • Experience with databases, relational and NoSQL including MySQL
  • Experience with core Azure services including those mentioned in this job description
  • Solid organizational skills and demonstrated initiative
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Requires occasional overtime on weeknights and weekends
  • Requires carrying a mobile and providing 24 x 7 support
  • Some travel to regional branch offices may be required
