Job Summary
Bring your strong administrative experience and superior organizational skills to this position

To provide a variety of office administrative, secretarial and financial support and coordination services for the branch and coordinate the day to day priorities of the Executive Director, including providing liaison with ministry executive offices. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing a well-organized and effective environment in which the Executive Director can operate. This position must have a clear understanding of the issues and projects handled by the Policing and Security Branch (PSB) and their connections to various external partner organizations and other programs and services within the Ministry. To be effective in this position, the Administrative Assistant must be able to handle highly confidential issues with sensitivity and discretion, have excellent organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external clients, and be able to manage multiple and changing priorities.
Job Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • One (1) year experience in providing administrative, financial and project management support services to team members and program managers with a multi-faceted portfolio.
  • Experience/proficiency with keyboarding, word processing, spread-sheeting, proof-reading, databases and other standard computer applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preference may be given to applicants with the following experience:
  • Two (2) or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the above requirements
  • Providing senior administrative support to management
  • ARCS / ORCS records management
  • Tracking correspondence using eApprovals and CLIFF
