About the Project
New Brunswick is undertaking a significant project to transition from various standalone hospital information systems to a unified, standardized, and integrated Clinical Information Solution (CIS). The successful deployment and user adoption of new endpoint devices (PCs, Thin Clients, Printers, Phones, Tablets) are critical to the success of this initiative.
Position Summary
The Government of New Brunswick (GNB) is seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Clinical User Experience Analyst to join the Clinical Information System (CIS) Consolidation Project. The primary goal is to ensure clinicians are provided with the correct, user-friendly tools and technology that are optimized for clinical workflows, promoting a positive user experience and seamless adoption.
This is a full-time, one-year contract position with two optional one-year renewal periods, starting on or about September 1st, 2025. The position is remote but requires travel to New Brunswick at least once a month.
Key Responsibilities

  • Elicitation of Clinical User Experience Requirements: Engage with clinicians across the province to understand their needs and how endpoints can be optimized to match their workflows.
  • Clinical User-Centered Design & Workflow Analysis: Work with clinical and technical teams to document and optimize the placement and deployment of endpoint devices within clinical settings.
  • Usability & Adoption: Ensure endpoint selection and configuration are intuitive and promote high user adoption.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between clinical end-users, the CIS vendor, internal IT teams, and project leadership.
  • Documentation: Produce detailed clinician-centered requirements, user personas, workflow maps, usability test reports, and solution documentation.
Mandatory Requirements
Candidates must clearly demonstrate the following:
  • Education: A college degree in Business, Healthcare, or Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingualism: Demonstrated bilingualism in both French and English (written and verbal) is essential to lead engagement, communications, and training.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a focus on Canadian health information systems, standards, technology, and/or software.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with clinicians in hospital settings, performing activities such as requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, and process analysis.
  • Proven experience working in a clinical setting to ensure optimal placement and deployment of endpoints.
  • Availability: Must be available to start work on or about the specified date and be available for potential after-hours or weekend work (with prior approval).
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Strong Facilitation Skills: 3+ years of experience in leading workshops to identify and articulate business and system requirements, user stories, and use cases.
  • Communication: 3+ years of demonstrated communication, facilitation, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Research Methods: 2+ years of experience conducting research methods such as usability testing and surveys.
  • Local Knowledge (Asset): Previous experience working within New Brunswick's technology or healthcare environments.
  • Clinical Background (Asset): Previous experience working as a clinician.
