McKinnon Psychotherapy and Counselling - Now Hiring In-Person Clinicians
Important:
Most of our clinical work happens onsite, and we're building a team who enjoy working together in person here in Trenton. We do, however, welcome online clinicians who offer psychological assessments.
McKinnon Psychotherapy & Counselling is a growing group practice in downtown Trenton. We're looking for Registered Psychotherapists, MSWs, and Psychologists to join us in our four-room clinic at 42 Front Street a space built with care, by therapists, for therapists.
About Us
At McKinnon Psychotherapy, we believe good therapy starts with good people. Therapists do their best work when they feel supported, valued, and part of a team that genuinely cares about each other.
Our clinic was designed to feel calm and grounding not clinical or cold. It's a place where clients exhale when they walk in, and where clinicians can actually think, breathe, and settle into the work.
If you're looking for a team that holds high standards but stays warm and real, you'll fit right in.
What Our Space Offers
Four thoughtfully designed therapy rooms, with two large, bright windows, and two with elegant glass partitions, so the whole clinic feels light and airy
A cozy staff room for breaks and connection
A private courtyard for quiet moments or fresh air
A downtown location near coffee shops, the river, lunch spots, and summer markets
Ample free parking
A responsive clinic administrator who keeps day-to-day operations running smoothly
Our Values
High Standards, Human Approach
We show up for clients the way we'd want someone to show up for us: skilled, grounded, and genuinely caring.
Team Collaboration
Consultation, shared wisdom, and supporting one another are at the heart of how we work. A strong team makes for strong therapy.
Excellence in Care
We keep growing new trainings, new perspectives, new skills. Curiosity is part of our culture.
Community Connection
We care about this community and love partnering with local organizations, offering workshops, and finding meaningful ways to give back.
Who We're Looking For
We welcome clinicians from many backgrounds. What matters most is your heart for the work, your clinical integrity, and your desire to grow within a supportive team.
Specializations are not required, but they're definitely a bonus. Strong assets include:
Child therapy (ages 6+)
Couples or family work
Focus on group therapy
Trauma-focused modalities (EMDR, IFS, etc.)
Psychological assessments (in-person or online)
Any unique niche or passion you bring to the practice
We're also looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the "behind-the-scenes" life of a group practice; joining peer supervision, participating in staff meetings, and helping us create meaningful client resources. This may include collaborating on simple educational content for Instagram or email newsletters, offering clients support and insight outside of their sessions in ways that feel accessible and human.
If you bring something meaningful to the table, we'd genuinely love to hear about it.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field
Registration in good standing with the CRPO, OCSWSSW, or other relevant College
Qualifying RPs are welcome; We can help arrange supervision
