We\'re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewThe WRHA Mental Health and Addictions provide a range of mental health and addiction services across the healthcare continuum that support and promote recovery. Through collaboration and partnership across various health services, social services and community sectors, WRHA Mental Health and Addiction strives to promote mental health and well-being for all, to reduce inequities, to improve access and coordination to minimize the impact of mental health and addiction issues for individuals and families and to work towards the sustainability of mentally healthy individuals and communities.Child and Youth (CY) Treatment Services within Mental Health and Addictions, WRHA has developed a new services and teams to provide a short-term responsive response for children and youth experiencing a mental health crisis, along with supporting their families, care providers, and professional supports. service will be provided both, both virtual and in person in community for Winnipeg. These services will provide timely consultation to service providers who deliver treatment resources to the child and youth population suffering with mental and emotional health challenges; and direct time-limited intervention to children and youth to support community stabilization. The service teams will work with the youth and community to fill service gaps, reduce barriers, and create pathways to existing services.With a trauma informed and equity informed perspectives these services connect youth to existing resource supports \xe2\x80\x9cclose to home\xe2\x80\x9d. Brief treatment may be provided in collaboration with community partnerships utilizing anti-racist, culturally informed and a person centric approach. Thus, allowing for increased safety for a diverse inclusive population of youth. Low barrier service delivery with smooth service transition is emphasized. We know in Manitoba a high proportion of children and youth that require or use mental health and addictions services may be from indigenous communities and backgrounds. This role requires a leader who can foster a team environment that is well positioned to support indigenous clients and families that may require these services. This includes identifying and developing improved pathways to service for indigenous clients.The Clinical Team Lead is a pivotal role in the development and implementation of these two exciting and much needed new service initiatives. The incumbent will demonstrate a commitment to holistic practice and will be focused on individual assets, strengths, recovery, and increasing competencies. Values of individual and family-centered care, accessibility, respect, continuous improvement and ethical practice will direct implementation of the service delivery. The Clinical Team Lead will assume the day-to-day- leadership role in assessment, treatment planning, formulation of an action plan to resolve the crisis and documentation. This role requires an ability to work collaboratively with other SDO\'s and agency partners.The incumbent may be required to work beyond regular business hours. As a condition of employment, all successful applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check (with vulnerable sector screening), adult abuse and child abuse registry checks prior to commencing employment. May include advanced security screening.Main Function
Under the general supervision the incumbent will report to the Health Services Manager within Child and Youth Treatment Services, Mental Health and Addictions, Shared Health and provide:

  • Education and Training
Experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years related clinical experience in mental health/ addiction services, preferably in the child and youth area.
  • 3 years\' experience in supervisory and managing in a unionized and interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with multi-sectoral partnerships: in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with a broad range of individuals and organizations, including the ability to facilitate, collaborate and resolve conflict.
  • Clinical knowledge and experience in the area of Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders.
  • Experience with case conceptualization and clinical consultation.
  • Experience working within brief treatment and crisis intervention models preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations.
  • Experience and having a comfort level working within new initiatives which come with some ambiguity and need for development and organization.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Post-secondary degree in a related health/human service discipline from an accredited institution - BSW, BScPN, BN, RN, RPN, OT or related health/human service degree required.
  • Post graduate degree is considered an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must be licensed and/or registered and an active member in good standing or eligibility of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated mid-level leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the
framework. * Knowledge of the Provincial Mental Health and Addiction service system and community and crisis intervention-based services.
  • Ability to work independently with an interdisciplinary, intersectoral and intrasectoral context
  • Ability to handle sensitive system level issues in a multi-level service system with professionalism.
  • Ability to adapt to high stress and fast-paced situations in a calm and composed manner.
  • Working knowledge and skill in trauma informed care and equity-based service delivery and models.
  • Working knowledge of legislative acts governing healthcare, and specific knowledge of the Manitoba Mental Health Act, as it relates to service provision to clients in mental health crisis.
  • Understands and demonstrates knowledge of relevant evidence-based practices to providing crisis intervention services.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Truth and Reconciliation Committees, calls to action, commitment to decolonization and cultural safety.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
  • Ability to respond quickly to virtual and community-based requests.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver\'s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for travel within the province.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
