Job Description

Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic is recognized as one of the leading sport medicine clinics in North America. We provide medical and rehabilitative care to individuals injured in athletic or recreational activities. We are seeking a Clinical Support Assistant who will support our motto of staying active.

This role supports clinical operations and flow for the Primary Care department. Working with multiple physician schedules, the role greets patients in the waiting area, moves them into treatment rooms and ensures physicians, fellows and other care providers remain on schedule. This role provides any follow-up tasks required (ie: follow-up referrals, x-ray / ultrasound, and any other requirements) indicated by the clinician as required.

Specific Duties:

Reviews the primary care department schedule to ensure all room set-up is provided prior to patient appointments every day.

Ensures patients are placed in the correct treatment room / area and any supplies or room set- up is completed prior to the patient appointment.

Helps with the review of referrals to primary care with the assistance from the Primary Care lead as needed, and works with the administrative team to ensure efficient booking of physician schedules and follow-up appointments.

Works closely with the front desk / administrative team to manage patient flow for the primary care department.

Follows up on patient appointments, referrals, or other requirements as necessary.

Ensures patients are billed / invoiced for injections and other billable procedures.

Manages dashboard messages and follow-up requirements from primary care physicians.

Communicates effectively with all primary care physicians, fellows, and other providers to troubleshoot and manage the day-to-day flow in the primary care service.

Communicates and works together with the Primary Care Lead to troubleshoot and manage any primary care service potential challenges or conflicts that may arise.

May work at the front desk reception checking in patients and other front desk duties as needed.

Degree and/or background in Kinesiology and/or health care profession would be considered an asset

Pay: From $19.50 per hour
