KSCS is seeking a highly skilled & experienced individual to provide clinical supervision to the Support Counsellors in Secondary Prevention. Under the supervision of Manager of Mental Wellness & Addictions, the Clinical Supervisor - Secondary Prevention is responsible for directing the daily operations of clinical team members, including providing clinical direction and consultation for cases of assigned staff. Clinical Supervisor reviews all court reports, ensures timely submission and prepares staff to testify in court.


Department: Family Services, Support Services


Duration: Determinate term contract, with a 6-month probationary period


Salary: Starting at $41.50/hour.


Schedule: 35 hrs/week; must be willing to work flexible hours as necessary


Description




Under the guidance and support of the Manager of Support Services, the Clinical Supervisor, Secondary Prevention of Shakotihsnie:nenhs (S5), provides trauma-informed clinical leadership, oversight and guidance to Support Counsellors - Secondary Prevention/S5. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and client-centered services through collaborative clinical consultation, case review, supporting complex decision-making, and strengthening staff capacity through coaching and training. Through a trauma sensitive approach and a commitment to legal integrity, the Clinical Supervisor helps to foster an organizational culture that prioritizes trust, respect, and well-being, while upholding the organization's goals of compliance, equity, and creating a positive, resilient workplace for all

Responsibilities




Coordinate the delivery of clinical services using a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach:

Receive and assign cases to supervisees as determined at the Intake Status team meeting and according to workload. Provide case relevant information to the workers in regard to services, organizations and groups. Ensure the provision of services to those individuals and families in need of assistance in the areas of: + Mental Health and Wellness
Any other cases as deemed necessary by Intake Status meetings. Participate in the development of new and revised procedures that support respectful, coordinated and consistent delivery of client services. Identify training needs, deliver training when available, and provide sharing of knowledge or skills to staff. Acquire & review material relevant to cases e.g. current methods, trends & needs of staff. To assist the Manager of Support Services to develop, implement and evaluate program activities

Provides Clinical Supervision to the Support Counsellors Secondary Prevention:

Provides clinical supervision to Support Counsellors. In collaboration with staff and Team Leaders, review service plans, goals and objectives, ensuring actions and decisions are aligned with each client's needs, safety, and wellbeing. Ensures the progression & supervision of all cases. Provide clinical direction and assistance to Case Managers/Team Leaders. Observes and note patterns and themes in service delivery and articulates these to Team Leaders and managers. Provides clinical direction and assistance to Prevention & Support activities of KSCS. Reviews all Court Reports, ensures they are submitted to the court in a timely manner and prepares staff members to testify in Court. Provide clinical supervision, as required, for after-hour services and crisis situations.

Provide supervision to the team at large:

Provides leadership and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This includes recruiting appropriate staff, addressing complaints, resolving problems; training employees, directing specific work, appraising performance and recommending terminating employees, when necessary. Provides direction and guidance to the team in relation to the KSCS Strategic Framework, Prevention Services as needed and Community Health Plan. Establishes regular staff meetings to support plans, communications, tracking of work and team building. Authorizes purchase orders and cash disbursements up to $1,000. Monitors expense activities in compliance with budget service plans, approves team members expense requisitions and travel claims. Delegates appropriate replacement during Clinical Supervisors absence. Attends monthly Supervisory sessions. Identifies training needs and approves training requests of team members. Attends staff meetings/workshops/conference relevant to area of employment. Ensures scheduling coverage for vacation, wellness, days and evenings and holiday services.

Support the Multi-Disciplinary Team Model Approach:

Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, such as case reviews, case conferences, Placement and Review Meetings, planning sessions, all staff meetings and any other team meeting as appropriate. Ensures case reviews are conducted with appropriate case manager. Ensures multi-disciplinary team and trauma-informed approach is followed when developing service plans with workers for his/her clients, to ensure sharing of information, joint intervention planning, where appropriate and gaining input. Ensures court reports and other appropriate documentation includes all appropriate disciplines. Acts as a consultant by providing information and technical expertise as required. Makes recommendations to Manager(s) and promotes needs in program area, as required (resources, training, etc.). Attends local, regional, national meetings or conferences as required and relevant to programming. Attends community events sponsored by KSCS. Provides input to Manager/Management in the development of prevention and support activities. Evaluates the results of the (Secondary Prevention Team) service delivery activities. Assists in the evaluation of the results of the (Intervention Team) service delivery activities. Promotes communication and adequate information flow within the organization and community.

Perform Administrative responsibilities:

Reviews the records of files, assigns authorities, closes files, and provides information within the Case Management Recording System. Approves Record of Approval, training requests, expenses, vacation requests, and timesheets. Assists in developing an action plan & supports the logistics of emergency interventions. Reviews all minutes from intake meetings, case reviews, case conferences and service planning meetings and ensures follow up. Ensures participation of staff in Case Conferences and Placement and Review meetings, as needed and participate, when required. Tracks and submits yearly stats. Participates in regular supervisory session with the Manager of Support Services

Performs other job-related duties as assigned, approaching each task with flexibility, clarity, and a supportive attitude.

To operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team involving Support and Prevention Services. To keep up to date with the developments and new trends in the field of clinical services. Uphold confidentiality practices in all matters.

Qualifications

Education and experience:



Must be an active member of the Professional Order of Social Workers or the Acquired Rights List, or be eligible to apply, with three (3) to five (5) years work related experience

Skills and requirements:



Good knowledge of the Kahnawa:ke community and culture. Must be sensitive and open to traditional native concepts and be prepared to adapt services to reflect cultural differences. Must have a good knowledge of the community issues, concerns and socioeconomic problems facing the community. Strong time management and organizational skills. Experience in working with intergenerational trauma. Strong commitment to trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and community-based approaches. Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask. Requires the ability to work in a team setting and / or independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong writing and editing skills. Experience in supervising employees. Ability to deal with confrontation and interpersonal conflict. Ability to observe and note patterns and themes in service delivery and clearly articulate these to Team Leaders & managers. Thorough knowledge of substance abuse, cause and effects, evidence based models of treatment, intervention and his/her application to diverse populations. Strong problem solving and analytical skills, focused decision making, open to challenges. Ability to craft articulate documents such as proposals, reports, briefs and correspondence. Ability to use computer programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Database, etc.) Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is a requirement.
