About the Role: The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership and oversight across group-based mental health services. Reporting to the Care Manager in Housing, Recovery, and Young Adult Services, this advanced practice position is responsible for clinical planning, coordination, and supervision that promotes best practice and high standards of care. You'll support clinicians across specialized areas, including: Edmonton Hope and Wellness. TIES. CORE. Comprehensive DBT (cDBT). Royal Alexandra Hospital Unit 64 Outpatient Services. What You'll Do: As a leader, mentor, and clinical resource, you'll guide teams delivering care to individuals with complex needs, emphasizing group facilitation and DBT. Key responsibilities: Provide clinical supervision and mentorship across sites. Offer expert consultation and support. Lead program development and quality improvement. Support staff development and competency evaluation. Foster community partnerships and continuity of care. Promote effective use of Connect Care. Description:
As a Clinical Supervisor, you will provide clinical supervision for a discipline, practice area or service sector supporting clinicians to provide excellence in professional practice and enable quality, patient and family-centered care. In this clinical leadership role, you will provide clinical supervision to staff providing addiction and/or mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role involves supervision related to a range of assessment, mental health (psychosocial and psychological interventions), and other activities. You will be required to supervise regulated staff requiring supervision to meet the regulatory requirements for practice, and/or to unregulated staff providing the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention. This may include observing clinical sessions, reviewing clinical documentation and written reports, conducting team case consultations and offering support, and providing guidance and direction to clinical staff with challenging and urgent cases in a timely manner. In your role, you may work with members of the interdisciplinary team, psychiatrists and community partners in support of effective professional and collaborative practice. You may contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of mental health treatment services in a hospital setting or community. You may also identify and address gaps in clinical practice as well as facilitate addressing of system level gaps and risk management issues. You may provide support to leadership in the hiring, orientation and performance evaluation of clinical staff.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology or Social Work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Active or eligible for full registration (not provisional) with the applicable regulatory college. A minimum of 5 years' experience in providing mental health assessment and intervention, including restricted activity of psychosocial intervention.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Postgraduate or advanced practice qualifications will be an asset. Knowledge and experience working within group treatment is required. Minimum of 5 years demonstrated clinical experience working within community addiction and mental health. Minimum 3 years of formal or informal supervisory experience. An understanding of research and program evaluation/quality improvement. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with partnerships in the provision of full range of services, from consultation to treatment. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals, interdisciplinary teams and other departments. Demonstrated ability to be creative, flexible, well organized, efficient, self-directed, dependable, and a collaborative systems thinker. Experience and training in DBT is required. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated clinical expertise and reflective practice. Demonstrated understanding of information sharing, ethics and duty to report. Strong computer skills an asset. Training and utilization of the DSM. Training and certification in psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy is preferred. Experience in process-based groups. Experience using Connect Care.
