Our Position
The Clinical Science Liaison position is responsible for ensuring clinical practice leaders (e.g., community specialist, local general practice leaders, and diverse healthcare decision makers) have the disease awareness and product understanding to support the safe and effective use of AstraZeneca medicines. The Clinical Science Liaison role addresses the increasing need the of expanding group of clinical practice leaders who are looking for up-to-date accurate medical information to enable better patient care. This role works closely with field-based customer-facing roles in Medical Affairs (e.g., Medical Science Liaison) and Commercial (e.g. sales representatives and first line sale managers).
The successful candidate for this role will:

  • Develop scientific partnerships with general practice and allied healthcare leaders, and diverse healthcare decision makers, to ensure understanding of the R&I therapeutic area and the safe and effective use of AstraZeneca marketed products.
  • Deliver disease education programs and latest clinical data upon request within the R&I therapeutic area.
  • Work closely with the medical community to support guideline and evidence-based changes in medical practice.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information from HCPs submitted through the commercial organization.
  • Support HCP Speaker training.
  • Deliver sales training on assigned products to enhance sales representatives\xe2\x80\x99 scientific knowledge and understanding.
  • Gathers scientific insights from HCPs to help shape brand strategies.
  • Serve as an expert in the R&I therapeutic area and on AZ products, and maintain up-to-date scientific knowledge both independently and through assigned internal training.
Requirements
  • Relevant Clinical experience (e.g., Respiratory Therapist, Nurse, Pharmacist, Primary Care Physician, etc) or relevant advanced scientific degree
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to understand and discuss complex medical data, and also able to simplify that data into impactful key medical messages
  • Enthusiastic team-player and self-starter
  • Ability to interact with and manage a range of stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Understanding of local healthcare systems
  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge or experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of the R&I therapeutic area
  • Passionate about improving patient care
