As a member of the Professional Practice Team, the Clinical Scholars will mentor newly graduated nurses, internationally educated nurses (IENs) and nurses seeking to upskill and can support and supervise the new nurses transition into the workforce.
Clinical Scholars will work in collaboration with other teams as required, supporting the strategic vision and direction of GBGH.QUALIFICIATIONSThe ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:
Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in the General Class in good standing
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Experience in frontline care in a hospital clinical setting
Previous experience teaching, working with clinical learners, IENs, and/or precepting required
Demonstrated ability to work independently, be self-directed and manage competing priorities
Demonstrated leadership, change management, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work with inter professional teams
Ability to evaluate clinical learners and IENs, as well as orient to hospital policies, rules, and regulations
Excellent clinical skills and competencies
Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate Patient and staff safety principles and practices
Ability to work all shifts as necessary

Hourly rate of pay $43.07 - $60.00, three (3) weeks vacation to start and movement in accordance with the ONA collective agreement.
