Salary: $25.98- $32.48 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)

Closing Date: August 31, 2024Position Summary
Working under the direction of the Clinical Research Manager and the Clinical Research Coordinator at the Hull-Ellis Concussion and Research Clinic, the Clinical Research Study Assistant will follow established procedures and support all clinical research initiatives for the research clinic.Duties

  • Following established procedures & guidelines and comply with applicable regulations
  • Assist the inter-professional team in performing study specific tasks in clinical research
  • Interacts with study participants and collects data in a clinical setting
  • Performs limited testing within scope of qualifications and with appropriate training for research purposes
  • Provides assistance to study team in preparing environment for conducting research activities as per protocol
  • Performs data entry and database maintenance related activities
  • Performs data transcription from health records or other sources, as per approved study protocol and authorized access
  • Assist in the preparation of submissions to the Research Ethics Board
  • Interacts with study participants (e.g., recruitment, scheduling appointments, other administrative functions
  • Administer in person and telephone interviews to collect basic study participant data using established criteria
  • Assist with the collection of medical documents as per approved study protocol and authorized access
  • Executes study-related administrative tasks, such as collection and maintenance of regulatory documents, ethics submissions, etc.
  • Provides assistance with the maintenance & modification of electronic & paper information filing/retrieval methods, systems and/or formats
  • Assist with scientific literature searches, manuscript preparation, abstract writing and conference/workshop presentation preparations, etc.
Qualifications
  • At minimum a community college diploma in a health related discipline, or equivalent required; Bachelor\'s degree an asset
  • At minimum three (6) to six (12) months related experience, clinical research experience preferred
  • Demonstrated relevant knowledge of clinical research and of human research regulations and guidelines of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies.
  • Knowledge of Research regulations and guidelines (such as ICH/GCP, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki, FDR, CFR and Health Canada TPD as required) is an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, time management and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office software
  • Adheres to confidentiality policy for sensitive patient data and information
  • Reliable, self-driven and highly motivated
