Prism Eye Institute (PEI) has been serving the communities of North York, Brampton, Oakville/Mississauga and surrounding areas for over 50 years.
In 2020 North Toronto Eye Care (NTEC) merged with Prism Eye Institute, to form Prism Group Holdings (Prism) and the largest Ophthalmology practice in Canada.
In 2022, PEI further strengthened a partnership with Vision Group Canada (VGC) and is working to expand its footprint nationally. VGC operates over 50 clinics and 70 surgical facilities performing over 100,000 procedures annually.

Tasks:
Conduct clinical research activities while ensuring a positive and professional patient experience.
Assist physicians and investigators with study recruitment and participant engagement.
Review patient charts to identify and screen eligible study candidates.
Contact and recruit participants for clinical studies in accordance with approved study protocols.
Schedule and conduct study visits, ensuring all procedures are completed accurately and on time.
Collect, record, and maintain study data using recognized optometric and ophthalmic techniques.
Ensure all research activities comply with study protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with study sponsors, investigators, and internal departments to support study execution.
Assist in data analysis and preparation of study reports or findings for submission to sponsors.
Maintain accurate study documentation and ensure confidentiality of patient and research data.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous learning related to clinical research.
Contribute to the development of research initiatives and support opportunities to act as Lead Investigator on future projects.
Perform other related duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.
What You Bring:
Successful completion of a professional optometry program or equivalent clinical training.
Minimum 5 years of direct clinical experience with patients, including obtaining consent and performing clinical testing.
Experience in clinical research related to cataract, glaucoma, or other ophthalmic fields.
Ability to conduct ocular examinations with high level of attention to detail.
Experience with clinical documentation, data collection, and adherence to research protocols.
Experience in authoring peer-reviewed or clinical articles and/or presenting at scientific conferences (asset).
Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage study timelines and deliverables.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with investigators, sponsors, and internal teams.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced environment.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Adaptable and detail-oriented, with the ability to work under pressure and within changing study requirements.
