Job Description

Dr. Angela Cheung's team at the OHRI is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Assistant II to join the Inflammation & Chronic Diseases Program. Our work focuses on finding new diagnostic tests and biomarkers for people living with liver disease and liver cancer, as well as revolutionizing management paradigms. We have an interest in understanding the interactions between immunity, metabolism, and the gut microbiome as pertains to liver disease and liver cancer. Our team works closely with patient and caregiver partners to ensure that research design, implementation and translation meet the needs of the ultimate beneficiaries of our research. The CRAII will be working under the general direction of Scientists, Clinical Research Associates, and Research Coordinators and is responsible for patient recruitment, data collection, and/or analytical assistance. Frequently aid in the preparation of regulatory applications, including research ethics board and Health Canada applications.

Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):



2 years' experience in a clinical research environment Secondary school diploma Evidence of training in Food and Drug Regulations, Division 5, and/or Device Regulations, as applicable Knowledge and recent evidence of training of clinical research standards. Ability to build and maintain internal and external professional relationships with patients, colleagues and the multidisciplinary team Proven ability to work independently and navigate competing priorities Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness in the development, implementation of projects, and ability to evaluate progress, action areas of improvement Commitment to quality and excellence, attention to detail in ensuring compliance with the protocol Effective communication skills (written and oral) Strong computer and data entry skills: including experience with electronic data capture Experience in arranging monitoring activities with the sponsor Clinical research certification (ACRP or SOCRA)

Preferred Qualifications:



Knowledge of TOH processes for arranging diagnostic imaging, investigational therapy and patient follow-up visits Experience in clinical medicine and/or hepatology Bilingualism is considered an asset

Contract Details:



This is a permanent full-time contract

Salary: Min: $25.842 - Max: $34.455
