Clinical/research assistant wanted for private ophthalmology clinic. Must have B.Sc. in Biology or related field. Must be highly organized and able to work flexible hours. Familiarity with scientific writing, literature searches, PowerPoint/Keynote, MS Office considered an asset. Previous experience working with patients and Mac systems considered an asset. Responsibilities Include:
- Obtaining images and scans of patients using ophthalmic imaging equipment during operating clinic hours Performing data entry and maintaining an image database Performing literature searches, creating abstracts and presentations for conferences Corresponding with industry representatives/conference coordinators Maintaining physician\xe2\x80\x99s personal schedule (booking flights, accommodation and scheduling meetings/reminders) Assisting with planning annual ophthalmology conference Other miscellaneous office duties, when required Qualifications: - B. Sc. in Biology or related field - Medical terminology course preferred - Familiarity with scientific writing and literature searches - Previous experience in a health care/research setting is an asset - Effective communication, problem solving and decision making skills - Well-developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills - Ability to work well independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team environment - Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint) - Flexibility with hours (contingent on work volume) Job Type: Full-time Salary: $16.00-$18.00 per hour Flexible Language Requirement:
