Job Description

Providing expert advice and operational solutions, this position is responsible for ensuring the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of patient/resident safety and quality improvement initiatives related to service improvement, patient safety, and accreditation standards. This position acts as a resource for all of Covenant Health to ensure client needs are met and future needs are anticipated. The role works with a high degree of independence and in collaboration with the Quality, Patient Safety & Experience portfolio and key stakeholders to plan and implement programs and processes. Responsibilities will also include the promotion and support to integrate quality improvement and patient safety initiatives into day-to-day operations across the continuum of care. The CQC will act as a liaison between program areas/facilities/portfolios and the Quality and Patient Safety Office. Based in Edmonton, travel to other Covenant Health sites will be required. This position is a 0.8 FTE. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a health care related discipline (e.g. nursing) required. Ongoing education and experience related to quality, quality improvement and patient/resident safety. Minimum of 5 years of experience in health services delivery. Demonstrated success in working with stakeholders to improve patient and or resident engagement and outcomes. Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver on multiple, complex major initiatives and projects. Knowledge of current approaches to patient/resident safety and quality improvement to improve outcomes. Passion for working with stakeholders to improve quality and patient/resident safety and outcomes. Facilitation and training/education experience and proficiency. Must demonstrate compassion, respect, collaboration, social justice, integrity and stewardship to align with Covenant Health values Must be able to work independently and manage ambiguity. Ability to operate related equipment and excellent proficiency in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Office, Connect Care, SharePoint, etc.

Knowledge of diverse health environments/systems. Strong communicator with ability to build positive collaborative relationships at all levels. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Analytical, evaluation and research skills, including familiarity with healthcare quality metrics. Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver on multiple, complex projects to success. Ability to relate to diverse age, cultural and demographic backgrounds.
