About the Opportunity
Accountable to the HSM Radiation Therapy Services, QE II Cancer Centre, the Radiation Therapy (RT) Clinical Practice Leader is responsible for clinical leadership in the delivery of cancer care to foster supportive clinical practice in collaboration with key stakeholders and the interprofessional care team. The RT Clinical Practice Leader provides clinical expertise and day-to-day operational direction to the cancer care team in the provision of evidence-based care that aligns with the mission, vision, values, and expectations of Nova Scotia Health and the provincial Cancer Care Program. The RT Clinical Practice Leader is the principal contact and liaison for the QE II Radiation Therapy Services, along with the Manager, and promotes the leadership philosophy, ethics, safety, quality, and performance of the team within the provincial program.
The RT Clinical Practice Leader plays a significant role in building capacity in specialty radiation therapy practice in collaboration with the RT Clinical Educators (CEs) through competency based educational strategies and being present at the point of care to support, develop and contribute to the translation of knowledge, skills and competencies while advancing practice. The RT Clinical Practice Leader demonstrates competency in the radiation therapy specialty, and exhibits knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours that align with and practices according to the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) Member Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and cancer care clinical specialty, professional practice, specific.
