The Clinical Physiotherapist II is responsible for the provision of physiotherapy assessment and intervention for patients of the Cardiac/Critical Care Program. This includes providing mentorship and education to other physiotherapists providing services to patients with cardiac conditions. As an integral member of the interdisciplinary patient care team, the Clinical Physiotherapist acts as a resource/consultant to the team on physiotherapy intervention for a variety of clinical presentations, participates in interdisciplinary reviews of effectiveness of care provided and integrates research findings into practice.The Clinical caseload includes patients who have had cardiac surgery, or any cardiac event with complications. Interventions include pre-operative assessment and teaching, post-operative follow-up as indicated, walking programs, education re healthy lifestyle and discharge planning. Work also involves participation in committees of the program/division/profession, program development, and interdisciplinary program evaluation. The incumbent also provides coverage during vacation periods and weekend coverage on a rotational basis.Supervision and delegation to Physiotherapy Support Workers is an expectation. The PT will be responsible to precept physiotherapy students and offer other clinical education experiences to students within Eastern Health. This position reports to the Division Manager for Cardiac Critical Care and maintains accountability for professional integrity issues to the Professional Practice Consultant for the discipline.Job Demands

Graduation from an approved/recognized School of Physiotherapy program is required.
Registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapist (NLCP) is required.
A minimum of three years\' experience within the last five working as a Clinical Physiotherapist with the adult acute care inpatient population is required.
Successful completion of post entry education courses in Cardiorespiratory assessment/treatment and Orthopedic Level I (or equivalent as determined by Eastern Health) is required.
Demonstrated effective communication, both verbally and in writing with co-workers, patients and their families in both a one-on-one and/or group environment.
Effectively translated and communicated knowledge in the specialized area of physiotherapy practice to others.
Possessed proven leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to provide supervision, coaching, mentorship and training to physiotherapists, physiotherapy support workers and students.
Ability to prioritize caseload and patient needs.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as a member of an interprofessional team.
