Position Description



The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) and the University of Ottawa (uOttawa) is partnering to hire pharmacists to provide support to the University of Ottawa French Pharmacy program.

This position will be essential in providing innovative training in the new pharmacy program of the U of O. This important role will have a pivotal role in training bilingual Pharmacists, addressing the need for French language pharmacy care and services in Francophone minority communities.

The incumbent will support in developing the new curriculum to be taught and they must demonstrate excellence and clinical expertise.

This position will require the Pharmacist to hold a clinical pharmacist assignment at TOH and teach at uOttawa.

Rotation/Shifts



Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements



Advanced Postgraduate Degree in Clinical Pharmacy from a recognized university OR Accredited Pharmacy Residency Program; 5 years experience in a clinical pharmacy position; Eligible for registration as a Pharmacist in Ontario; Working knowledge of modern hospital care and drug therapy; In-depth understanding of use, composition and clinical effects of drugs; Ability to lead/coach/mentor; Capacity to perform clinical or practice research; Experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications; Superior written and verbal communication skills; Good interpersonal skills; Must be eligible to work in Canada ;Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English-speaking clients.

Preferred Qualifications



Membership with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists; Experience in conducting independent research.
