Key Responsibilities
:
Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients.
Provide clear and compassionate patient counseling on medication use, side effects, and drug interactions.
Review prescriptions to ensure they are appropriate, and detect any potential therapeutic issues.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Manage and maintain inventory, ensuring medication is stored properly and reorder levels are maintained.
Stay current on advances in pharmacy and healthcare practices.
Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Maintain records of all medications dispensed and adhere to safety standards.
Qualifications
:
Licensed to practice pharmacy in Alberta (ACP).
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or equivalent
Strong clinical knowledge in prescribing, prescription renewals, CACP, and other clinical services following ACP guidelines.
Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) certification or currently pursuing certification
Additional accreditations are an asset (e.g., CDE, CRE, CTH, etc.)
Injection Certification is required.
A minimum level C First Aid certification
Knowledge of Kroll software an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
