to lead daily clinical operations and nursing functions at our Toronto clinic. This on-site leadership role reports to the Nursing Director and works closely with physicians, the IVF laboratory, nursing, finance, and cross functional teams.
Position Summary
The Clinic Operations Manager (RN) is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and patient-centered delivery of fertility services across Operating room, cycle monitoring and satellite programs. This role requires a
deep understanding of fertility protocols, ART workflows, and patient pathways
, along with proven nursing leadership experience.
The ideal candidate provides hands-on clinical leadership, supports and mentors the nursing team, and ensures consistent application of fertility protocols, documentation standards, and patient education practices. As a key escalation point, the role helps address patient concerns with compassion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Operations Leadership
Oversee day-to-day operations of the operating room, satellite and cycle monitoring teams, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
Collaborate with physicians to align workflows with evidence-based fertility practices.
Monitor daily volumes and proactively adjust staffing and schedules to support cycle demands.
Lead development, review, and implementation of SOPs for ART, cycle monitoring, and interdisciplinary workflows.
Identify and implement process improvements that enhance outcomes and the patient experience.
2. Nursing Leadership & Clinical Oversight
Provide strong clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to the nursing team.
Deliver direct clinical care when required, including venipuncture, injections, medication teaching, cycle review, and patient counselling.
Interpret and communicate physician orders accurately, ensuring continuity across treatment cycles.
Maintain high standards of clinical documentation in the EMR and ensure compliance across the team.
Lead ongoing nursing education and competency development specific to fertility and reproductive care.
3. Patient Care & Experience
Serve as a clinical escalation point for patient questions or concerns, ensuring compassionate, timely support.
Promote inclusive care, with sensitivity to the needs of 2SLGBTQIA+ patients and diverse family structures.
Support patients emotionally as they navigate the challenges of infertility and ART.
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with CNO standards, College of Physicians and Surgeons requirements, accreditation bodies, and internal policies.
Uphold rigorous infection prevention and control practices.
Prepare for inspections and audits; manage quality indicators, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
Champion a culture of safety, ethical practice, and continuous quality improvement.
5. Team Management & Performance
Lead, coach, and evaluate nursing and clinical support staff; participate in hiring and onboarding.
Oversee clinical scheduling and staffing for a 7-day-per-week operation.
Conduct regular team meetings and support transparent communication across departments.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
Qualifications
Required
Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
Minimum 3 years of clinical fertility nursing experience
(e.g., IVF, IUI, cycle monitoring, ART protocols).
Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
in a fertility clinic or reproductive medicine environment.
Deep understanding of ART, ovarian stimulation protocols, cycle monitoring, embryology-nursing coordination, and patient pathways.
Strong knowledge of patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements in reproductive medicine.
Proven experience managing schedules, multidisciplinary teams, and operational workflows.
Proficiency in EMRs, eIVF preferred.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to counsel patients and lead teams effectively.
Ability to respond to urgent clinical or facility issues outside of regular working hours.
Assets
Leadership experience in a fertility clinic environment.
WHMIS, BCLS.
Experience with SOP development and accreditation processes.
Familiarity with clinic expansion or satellite site deployment.
Experience contributing to EMR or digital tool design/improvement.
Working Conditions
Full-time, on-site role at our Toronto downtown clinic.
Clinic operates 7 days per week.
Flexibility required to respond to after-hours operational or facilities issues.
Must comply with all infection control and safety standards.
