About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Intake Mental Health & Addictions (MHA), the Clinical Nurse Leader is responsible for ensuring person-centered care is provided to clients and families contacting the MHA Central Intake (CI) team to complete an intake screening or to seek information concerning other resources. As an experienced practitioner, the Clinical Nurse Leader provides day to day operational leadership to the CI staff in the provision of evidenced based client care. The Clinical Nurse Leader is the principal contact and liaison with the CMH & A teams and the Health Services Manager. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient coordination of clinical operations to respond to calls. He/she must enhance a positive team approach and atmosphere within the service.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or demonstrated equivalencies
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)
  • Three years previous mental health and addiction experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM V) with the ability to screen for mental illness and substance use disorders
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced clinical judgment
  • Awareness of community, hospital, and government organizations/agencies
  • Expert knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound and reliable clinical decisions
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, flexibility and innovation
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products. Experience and familiarity with One Content preferred. Experience working with Patient Healthcare Scheduling software an asset.
  • Completion of Mental health program from RNPDC would be considered an asset
  • Leadership training and/ or workshops would be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of quality improvement processes
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent, Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • May include some evening, weekend and holiday hours
Compensation and Incentives

$37.05 - $43.39 hourly

$44.91 hourly with 25 years RN experience
