. This
dual-role
position combines clinical practice with operational leadership, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact both in the exam room and in leading clinical operations.
This is a key leadership position--you'll work closely with our Executive Director (your direct report) and play a vital role in shaping care delivery, team culture, and patient experience. We're seeking a candidate who brings experience, initiative, empathy, and strong leadership to the table.
About the Role
You'll split your time between:
Providing direct clinical care to patients across the lifespan, within your full RN scope
Managing clinical operations, supervising staff, and driving improvements in care quality, team workflow, and patient safety
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a team, supporting others, and solving problems while remaining actively involved in patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Provide direct patient care, including assessments, triage, chronic disease follow-up, and preventative health interventions
Perform procedures such as immunizations, wound care, TB tests, ear syringing, and suture removal etc.,
Educate patients and families, supporting health promotion and self-management
Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
Assist physicians and NPs during exams or procedures
Support chronic disease and screening program adherence (e.g., mammograms, pap tests, BP checks)
Coordinate follow-up on lab results, prescriptions, and diagnostic tests
Other duties as required
Leadership & Operations:
Provide leadership and oversight to the clinical team
Manage staff scheduling, time-off requests, and daily workflow
Mentor, onboard, and support new clinical staff members
Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback
Collaborate with the Executive Director to implement quality improvement and risk management strategies
Ensure clinical policies, procedures, and best practices are followed
Act as a liaison between staff, leadership, and external stakeholders
Support clinic supply ordering and maintenance of clinical spaces
Other duties as required
Must Have:
Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
5+ years of nursing experience, ideally in primary care or community health (but not mandatory)
Demonstrated leadership or team coordination experience
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Leadership experience or proven ability to lead and supervise clinical teams
Ability to adapt to change and handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Familiarity with Ontario's primary care system and community health resources
Experience leading or supervising clinical teams
Experience in quality improvement, program coordination, or policy implementation
