Position Summary:
Create an environment that supports and advances professional practice, teamwork and communication through mentoring and role modeling application of mental health clinical knowledge.
In collaboration with the team and manager, organize and prioritize day-to-day patient care activities, staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization.
Round, monitor and address patient and family satisfaction with care.
In collaboration with the manager, facilitate individual and inter-professional team rounds, and effective work processes.
Facilitate staff orientation and identify staff learning needs and appropriate resources in collaboration with program Clinical Educators & Manager
Support the accountability of team members to the Manager with regards to patient care, professional conduct, and performance
Participate in hiring, orientation, and performance evaluation of staff.
In collaboration with manager & program leadership, support THP & program strategic plan
Liaise with members of inter-professional team to ensure excellence in patient care.
Regularly completes chart reviews and audits and follow-ups to ensure adherence and compliance to standards of care.
Plan, coordinate, and case conferences and as required.
Monitor and address health and safety inspections.
Monitors the quality of patient care through daily huddles and monitoring of key quality metrics on the Quality Board
Assists in the development of effective interpersonal relationships among inter-professional team through coaching, mentoring, and facilitating difficult conversations.
Demonstrated excellent communication, facilitation, critical-thinking and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively.
Ability to provide leadership to projects and accomplish established goals.
Experience in developing and implementing clinical programs.

Manage daily workload of staff in such a way as to maximize efficiency, ensuring that clinical practice is evidence-based and safe.
Support the accountability of team members to the Manager with regards to patient care, professional conduct, and performance
Facilitate individual and inter-professional team rounds, teamwork and effective work processes and liaise with members of inter-professional team to ensure excellence in patient care.
Plan, coordinate and participate in case conferences and team and mental health program meetings as required.
Assists in the hiring, orientation and performance evaluation of staff and identify staff learning needs and appropriate resources in collaboration with program Clinical Educators
Liaison with bed flow coordinator to facilitate flow and capacity within the unit
Completes chart reviews and audits and follow-ups to ensure adherence and compliance to standards of care in collaboration.
Monitor RL6 system and investigates and resolves Level 1, 2 & 3 incidents.
Assist with monitoring unit metrics and data such as discharge referrals, length of stay, and re-admission rates.
As the Clinical Leader, provide support across inpatient units working in partnership with the other Clinical Leader to ensure that operations, patient care, and team coordination are effectively completed and aligned.
Provide coverage when needed for the Emergency Department Mental Health and the other inpatient units.
Qualifications:
Current Registration as a Registered Nurse and membership in good standings with the College of Nurses
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing combined with current, Mental Health Acute Care experience.
Current CPR and BSL certificate required.
Minimum 3-5 years Mental Health experience including previous experience as a Clinical Leader preferred.
