Clinical Informatics Manager



Reporting directly to the Vice President Client Care, the Clinical Informatics Manager plays a pivotal role in bridging clinical practice and digital innovation. This role supports the design, planning, implementation, training, optimization, and evaluation of health information systems to improve client care, operational efficiency, and data integrity. The Clinical Informatics Manager serves as a strategic partner across client care services programs, championing evidence-based practice, change management, and continuous learning.The position brings the clinical knowledge and leadership required to lead clinicians, departments and programs through business process and patient workflow redesign and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. In carrying out the responsibilities above and in the interest of client care, will be fully knowledgeable and committed to understanding and abiding by Carefor's mission, vision and values while complying with applicable policies/procedures to include but not limited to, code of conduct, health & safety, confidentiality/privacy, risk management and quality improvement.

What you will do:



The Clinical Informatics Manager works within the four domains of Practice with an informatics lens:

Clinical Practice Leadership Education Research

Professional Practice Domain - Clinical Practice (40%) :



Clinical Systems Integration & Optimization

Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of clinical information systems (CIS), ensuring alignment with clinical workflows and organizational goals. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify system enhancements that support patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, wearable devices) for potential integration into clinical practice. Liaise with professional practice leaders and operational leaders to adopt best practices in clinical electronic documentation Ensures that clinical documentation system design follows evidence based best-practice and will be supported through streamlined processes Trains staff on system use and works across multiple departments to integrate the sharing of information and coordination of business processes related to client care management

Data Governance, Analytics & Reporting



Ensure compliance with data governance frameworks, including privacy regulation, and internal privacy policies. Support the development of dashboards, reports, and analytics tools to inform clinical decision-making and performance monitoring. Conduct audits and data integrity checks to maintain high standards of information quality and security.

Professional Practice Domain - Education & Research (30%):

Education, Training & Change Management



Design and deliver training programs using adult learning principles to support staff adoption of informatics tools. Adopts Diversity, Inclusivity, and Equity in the delivery of clinical informatics education and support . Apply structured change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step, etc.) to guide transitions and foster engagement. Mentor clinical staff and contribute to informatics workforce development initiatives. Works in collaboration with the Professional Practice and Operational Teams to ensure proper onboarding of new client care employees Promotes external and internal sharing of best practices to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality. Contributes to the foundational development of policies, procedures and guidelines for clinical informatics practice that align with excellent care, and quality improvement activities. Implement oversight mechanisms to monitor, measure, and evaluate compliance with clinical documentation practices in an electronic environment.

Professional Practice Domain - Leadership (30%):

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration



Act as a liaison between clinical teams, IT, vendors, and external partners to ensure cohesive system development and support. Participate in regional and national informatics networks to share best practices and stay abreast of industry trends. Support vendor evaluation, contract review, and system lifecycle planning. Understands the role of staff in each program/service and facilitates the development of best practice solutions within Carefor electronic clinical informatics system. Participate in, or lead audits, incident reviews, and quality improvement projects through a clinical informatics lens.

Innovation & Strategic Leadership



Contribute to strategic planning initiatives that position the organization as a leader in digital health transformation. Identify opportunities for innovation in clinical workflows, patient engagement, and data utilization and make suggestions on potential to the operational leadership team. Lead or support research and pilot projects in clinical informatics. Leads by example and promotes continuous quality improvement by creating an environment where innovation and creativity are encouraged.

What you will bring:



Registered healthcare professional licensed to practice in Ontario and member of one of the regulatory colleges such as but not limited to the professions of RN, RPN, OT, PT, SW, DT, Kinesiologist, Psychologist, Behavioralist; required. Undergraduate preparation in a Healthcare related Discipline; asset Master's prepared; asset Advanced training or certification in Clinical Informatics, Health Information Management, or related field; preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in clinical informatics or digital health transformation; preferred. Knowledge of the related regulatory and legislative requirements within Ontario; required. LEAN Greenbelt, PROSCI, or PMP certificate; asset. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support systems (CDSS), and data visualization tools; asset. Demonstrated experience in change management, project leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration; asset. Proven understanding of clinical service delivery in a homecare environment. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Good command of Windows, Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.). Experience supporting quality management initiatives. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to take initiative. Understands and uses effective communication methods/tools adopted by the organization to communicate effectively influence change, direct and motivate others. Adapts to changes in the role by acquiring the appropriate knowledge and skills Ability to promote and facilitate data driven, evidence-based practice decision-making within a community setting with demonstrated expertise and ability to apply, teach, coach and mentor individuals and teams. Demonstrated effective critical thinking, analytical, and problem-resolution skills. Maintains the level of competencies and skills required to successfully provide education and training to support staff. Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills. Bilingualism (French/English); asset.

What we offer you:



The hiring range for this position is $82,446.00 to $98,845.50 per year, which reflects the expected starting salary based on qualifications and experience. Please note, this is not the full salary range for the position. Opportunities for growth within the full salary range are available in alignment with organizational policies and performance.
