Reporting to the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer (CCIO), the Clinical Informatics Lead will lead, support and drive the adoption of the Lumeo Regional Health Information System (RHIS) at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), ensuring its successful adoption, sustainment, optimization, enhancement and expansion.
The Clinical Informatics Lead promotes the integration of computer and communications technologies and clinical change initiatives that automate and/or enhance evidence-based clinical practices, access to patient information and clinical documentation via the RHIS in collaboration with clinical leaders, program managers and directors, physicians and staff.
Working collaboratively with the entire Clinical Informatics team, the Clinical Informatics Lead works to increase the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability and sustainability of clinical initiatives that assist in the successful transition to a fully integrated electronic health record throughout KHSC programs and services.
As an employee, the Clinical Informatics Lead must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centred engagement and care.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES INCLUDE
: Assists in developing and implementing consistent interim and permanent solutions to identified informatics issues ensuring continuous quality improvement through regional standardization of clinical documentation. Collaborates with members of the KHSC IM/IT department and other organizational programs/departments and regional partners related to system-wide practice and workflow change initiatives, practice innovation and re-design, documentation/nomenclature standards and the electronic health record.
Supports end-users by facilitating ongoing meetings and communication to better understand current-state workflows, opportunities for system enhancements, and to disseminate information regarding system changes. Understands and champions the importance of organization-wide design.
Provides hands-on application troubleshooting. Consistently maintains end-user support to a wide variety of stakeholders. Participates in error correction/data integrity activities and audit processes to ensure quality data collection and system efficiency.
Monitors the resolution of incidents arising from clinical utilization problems with the relevant applications, practices or procedures by methods such as gathering information from end-users, identifying trends and communicating with technical support staff, designated program staff and management to assist with the resolution of issues.
Promotes the integration of computer and communications technologies and clinical change initiatives that automate and/or enhance evidence-based clinical practices, access to patient/client information and clinical documentation via the RHIS in collaboration with clinical leaders, program managers and directors, physicians and staff.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
: 3 year college diploma in a related Healthcare Discipline, Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
University degree in a related Healthcare Discipline, Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent, or equivalent experience preferred.
Regulated Healthcare Professional in good standing is an asset.
3 years considerable position related experience required.
5 years considerable position related experience preferred.
Clinical Informatics experience is an asset.
3+ years experience leading implementation or improvement initiatives, either at department/program level or organization wide.
Strong knowledge of processes and workflows in one or more units or programs.
Experience designing, implementing and supporting clinical systems.
Strong leadership skills, e.g., change management and conflict resolution.
Skilled at data analysis, interpretation and report compilation.
Project management skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Knowledge and experience in using effective facilitation skills to guide diverse groups in defining and realizing common goals.
A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.
