About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Planning, the Clinical Engineer has the responsibility for the provision of clinical/biomedical engineering expertise to support planning and clinical equipment procurement across the sub-projects of the larger Redevelopment project. The Clinical Engineer serves as consultant, interpreting the applied physics of technologies used as well as the technology/physiology interaction/implications for clinicians and general staff for optimization of technology use, health technology assessment, risk management, etc. The Clinical Engineer is specifically responsible to support planning and clinical equipment procurement for the various QEII Redevelopment Projects. The Clinical Engineer will provide related advice concerning biomedical preventive maintenance program(s); equipment/technology management and assessment; risk management; electrical and medical gas distribution with respect to clinical use; and other duties as required.
