Reports to: Director, Education and Volunteer Services Location: 5920 MacLeod Trail SW, Calgary, Alberta - supports all sites across Calgary Type: Part-time, Permanent - 3 days per week (temporarily full-time, five days per week) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 4:30 pm, flexibility required Salary: $37.00-$42.00/hour depending on experience
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Education Team Leader, the Clinical Educator will support the Education team in providing assistance with Mandatory Education, In-services, General Orientation and other types of education. Responsible to provide consulting, training, coaching, and evaluation services that ensure continuous performance improvement of individuals and departments in support of quality customer service in the Continuing Care setting. As a performance consultant, coach, role model, and instructor, the individual is responsible for orientation programs, infection control, compulsory education, and staff development programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Brings a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse registered with CLPNA
  • Minimum of three years related experience in area of gerontology and continuing care services. Knowledgeable in principles and philosophy of continuing care.
  • Knowledgeable about principles of adult learning, previous experience as a Clinical Educator is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership, motivation and innovation within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Able to work flexible hours and to travel between/among Intercare 3 facilities as required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision within the framework of team work.
