Working collaboratively with Clinical Educators across the organization and within the Cardiac Health Program you will plan, develop, implement and evaluate the orientation and ongoing education needs for Cardiac Surgery, and Cardiology In-patient units as well as Cardiac Diagnostics Clinics. You will be responsible for the ongoing education of staff providing care to the variety of patients and be flexible to support education of staff in other units within the Cardiac Health Program to help achieve one patient experience across THP. You will also be assisting with Patient Services corporate education e.g. hospital orientation.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the CNO is required
  • BScN is required
  • 3 - 5 years Cardiac or Cardiac Surgery experience required
  • Advanced clinical expertise in Cardiac Care required
  • Clinical expertise includes advanced arrhythmia & 12 lead ECG interpretation; care of patients with AMI, CHF, & cardiogenic shock; care of patients having cardiac catheterization & angioplasty, TAVI, Structural Heart procedures and Cardiac Surgery
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required combined with the ability to prepare and teach in a classroom setting as well as in a clinical setting
  • Working knowledge of EPIC EMR preferred
  • Previous experience in developing preceptorship programs, evaluation of teaching methods and in reviewing research pertinent to the respective clinical area(s) an asset

  • Reliable and flexible individual to work as part of a diverse work team
  • Ability to think critically and effectively in order to prioritize needs in emergency situations
