Job Description

We currently have a Temporary Part Time (0.8 FTE, until approx. November 2024) opportunity for a Clinical Dietician in the K3E at our Bayview campus.

Hours of Work:

Weekdays: Days, 8 hours, as per schedule

Summary of Duties:

The successful candidate will provide nutritional management for inpatients in K3E Acute within the Integrated Community Program, in accordance with the Clinical Nutrition Standards of Practice and the principles of person-centred care.

The successful candidate will participate in the advancement of patient care through professional, unit-based and organizational committees, quality initiatives and practice-based research, and interprofessional rounds. The candidate will also participate in the education of dietetic and other students as applicable.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Member of College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
  • Recent, related experience in general medicine, long term care or with alternate level of care patients required
  • Person-centred care approach with an understanding and appreciation of the issues related to management of chronic conditions affecting elderly clients
  • Proficiency in nutritional assessment and care
  • Experience assessing, implementing and managing enteral nutrition, parenteral nutrition, and therapeutic diets required
  • Superior communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of the interprofessional team
  • Experience providing patient/family education required
  • Demonstrated initiative, teamwork and ability to effectively prioritize work required
  • Demonstrated effective communication and collaboration skills required
  • Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice required
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development required
