Position Summary
The Clinical Development Manager - Dental Hygiene is responsible for overseeing the clinical education, research support, and professional development programs related to dental hygiene. This role bridges scientific evidence, product innovation, and clinical application to ensure excellence in patient care and practitioner engagement. The manager will collaborate with internal teams, academic institutions, and professional organizations to develop and implement training programs, clinical trials, and evidence-based initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Educational Leadership
Develop, implement and evaluate clinical education and training programs for dental hygiene professionals and internal staff.
Ensure all training content reflects current best practices, regulatory standards and evidence-based care.
Partner with marketing, R&D and sales team to integrate clinical insights into product development and positioning.
Serve as a clinical subject matter expert (SME) for dental hygiene across the organization.
Research & Evidence Generation
Support the design and execution of clinical studies, pilot programs and trials related to dental hygiene products or interventions.
Collaborate with academic and research partners to validate new technologies and treatment protocols.
Interpret clinical data to develop educational materials, white papers and presentations.
Professional Relations & Advocacy
Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), dental hygiene schools and professional associations.
Represent the company or organization at professional conferences, trade shows and continuing education events.
Provide clinical input for publications, webinars and peer-reviewed articles.
Program & Project Management
Manage timelines, budgets and resources for multiple clinical or educational initiatives.
Track program outcomes and metrics to assess impact and identify areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory guidelines and ethical standards.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Dental Hygiene, Dental Education or a related healthcare field required.
Advanced degree (MSDH, MPH, MBA or similar) preferred.
Licensure:
Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in good standing.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in dental hygiene with at least 2-3 years in education, product development, clinical affairs or management.
Experience in corporate dentistry, dental product development or academic leadership strongly preferred.
Proven ability to design and deliver continuing education programs.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong knowledge of dental hygiene best practices, infection control and emerging technologies.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
