Spectrum Learning Centre, a prominent organization specializing in social services for youth, is actively seeking a committed Clinical Counsellor to join our team. This pivotal role involves spearheading the development and execution of service plans tailored to children and youth in our LBSTSC Services. These services cater to individuals who are under the care of social services or child welfare agencies but are considered safe to remain in their current placements. As a Clinical Counsellor, you will collaborate closely with a diverse team, working towards the empowerment of youth and families, ultimately driving positive outcomes.

Expectations/Potential Duties:



Collaborate in the development of the SHSS Service Plan alongside the child or youth and their SHSS Care Circle. Lead the formulation of plans for each child's/youth's stabilization and transition out of the LBSTSC Services, collaborating with experts, Primary Professionals, Resource Workers, community professionals, parents/Guardians, caregivers, Out-of-Care providers, and other SHSS Program service providers as needed. Engage with primary community supports and service providers to facilitate transition planning for child/youth/family. Provide direct clinical services, including intake, assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, and consultation/liaison with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other Ministry programs. Conduct comprehensive assessment and treatment planning, delivering individual, group, and family therapy. Maintain awareness and knowledge of psychotropic medications as prescribed by physicians. Offer mediation and family support to children/youth, parents/Guardians, caregivers, Out-of-Care providers, and other SHSS Program service providers, including parent training such as EFFT. Provide direct clinical consultation and guidance to Service Provider Personnel. Maintain required clinical/client/administrative records. Deliver training sessions for Service Provider Personnel.

Qualifications:



Master's degree in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or equivalent graduate degree at the Master's level. Minimum of 5 years of direct clinical supervision experience in social services, working with children, youth, adults, and families. Registered, and in good standing, with appropriate professional college(s) or association(s) (e.g., BC Association of Clinical Counselors).
